The apple train is on its way out and pumpkin train is rolling in! What better way to welcome the season with a collaboration of the two! Last week, I made apple slices in the waffle iron as a result of a video I saw and had to try it! They came out like little bites of apple pie. Then a lightbulb came on and I thought they would make the perfect little sandwich stuffer. So I whipped up some pumpkin cream, baked up some spiced apple slices and put them in the middle of two flattened cinnamon rolls. That is one perfect Fall indulgence!
FUN FACT: Did you know that you can’t just go to the pumpkin patch and pick a pumpkin, scoop it out and use it for pie? You have to specifically use a “pie” pumpkin or “sugar” pumpkin. The other types will be too bitter and yucky to eat!
