What do you do with your Thanksgiving leftovers? Usually, I just continue to eat them for lunch and dinner the rest of the week following Thanksgiving, but I wanted to find a more fun and unique way of doing that!

This recipe takes all the traditional ingredients from your Thanksgiving dinner and makes it into a post turkey day party in your tummy! My favorite part of this has got to be the Hawaiian bread soaked in gravy in the middle of the sandwich. Can you say YUMMY?! Kids, you may not know this, but your parents will remember a scene from “Friends “ where Monica makes Ross a sandwich with Thanksgiving leftovers and she puts “the moist maker” in the middle. That is where I got that idea from. I thought it would be fun to incorporate something that sounds so good and fitting to this recipe!

FUN FACT: Why do we eat stuffing on Thanksgiving? It all began when early Americans didn’t have modern stoves just yet to cook the turkey AND side dishes. So they stuffed the turkey with bread that would end up getting stale if they didn’t eat it. This allowed them to both make a side dish at the same time as the turkey, as well as bringing stale bread back to life with all the turkey juices soaking into the bread, hence making stuffing!

Instructions
  1. Put your leftover stuffing in a bowl with one egg and mix it in completely. The egg will act as a “glue” and help the stuffing stick together when you make it into a waffle!

  2. Spray the inside of your waffle iron on both sides with non stick spray and add a small mound of stuffing in the middle, leaving room on the sides around It needs room to spread out once you close the waffle iron and squish it down.

  4. Let it cook for 4 minutes, until top is dark golden brown and crispy, then remove and let cool a bit before handling. You will make at least two stuffing waffles to create your sandwich. DO NOT eat any of the stuffing with the raw egg in it. If you don’t cook it then throw it away!
